So your refrigerator stops being cold?

Kelly Construction | more than 2 weeks ago

You have a relatively new refrigerator. It seems to be happily humming along. However, it’s not keeping your food cold. What gives?

It’s possible your frig is completely broken but chances are that your frig is just stuck in one of its cycles(you know it’s doing its cycle thing when you hear your frig start its noisy motor). You can try this before you call your handyman(or us): unplug your frig from the wall for 24 hours. At the end of the 24-hour period, turn the frig back on. One thing you need to look out for – make sure you take out all the ice from the freezer before you start or else the ice will start melting and potentially damage your floor. Even if you’ve taken the ice out, some residual water may still leak out. So keep an eye on the frig while it’s unplugged. If you’re lucky, your frig will start pumping out cold air and making ice again.

My fridge stopped working(not cold) yesterday. I found your post and tried your method and it worked. Thanks!
